Things to Do
The Tech Interactive, San Jose’s tech museum, is located right in the heart of downtown San Jose. Among its family-friendly exhibits are stations about bio-design, body motion, and social robots. Rosicrucian Egyptian Museum has the most extensive collection of Egyptian artifacts in the western U.S. The museum has several collections and exhibits, a young archeologist program, and educational workshops. Triton Museum of Art showcases local, regional, and national artists for locals to learn about art and the creative process.
Alviso Marina County Park is a 20-acre bayside park that connects to salt ponds and marshes in Don Edwards San Francisco Bay National Wildlife Refuge. The park offers self-guided opportunities, hiking trails, boat tours, a boat launch, biking, and picnic areas. For sports enthusiasts, San Jose hosts the Sharks, the San Jose Giants (a minor league affiliate of the San Francisco Giants baseball team), 49ers football is next door in Santa Clara, and the Mountain West Conference San Jose State Spartans, who put on a great show each fall season in San Jose.
