Welcome to Los Gatos/Monte Sereno
Relaxed communities close to Silicon Valley with upscale homes and natural landscapes
Los Gatos and Monte Sereno are two adjoined communities in Santa Clara County, Calif. Residents of both areas call downtown Los Gatos their downtown. The communities are situated approximately 11 miles southwest of San Jose and are bordered by Saratoga to the north. This quintessential suburb offers its residents a strong sense of community off the beaten path of the rest of Silicon Valley.
The town of Los Gatos is located at the base of the Santa Cruz Mountains; it is picture-perfect. Originally known as the Valley of the Heart's Delight, Los Gatos was built by San Franciscans coming down to escape their city life on the weekends. Glen Ridge and The Almond Grove neighborhoods are predominantly dedicated historic communities, with opulent homes built at the turn of the century. The town lies just removed from the hustle of Silicon Valley, making it a great escape from the more congested communities along the Peninsula. The geography of Los Gatos is visually stunning, situated in an amphitheater of mountains and hills, with the hills rising high above the town center. Los Gatos is part of the South Bay region of the San Francisco Bay Area, mainly known for its high-tech companies primarily located in California, including Los Gatos-based tech giants Netflix and Roku.
